Mapleton State School is a beautiful country school nestled on the Sunshine Coast
hinterland. The students at our school are fortunate to enjoy spacious grounds
full of picturesque gardens and bushland.
Baxter Creek has been an ongoing project of revegetation of
natives and removal of exotic species. It is used as a valuable outdoor
learning space for our students and incorporates a native edible bush tucker
garden and a flat space where we have ‘camp out’ days for students.
Mapleton State School has its very own Observatory in the
school grounds and the students enjoy coming along and stargazing at Cosmic
Kids Club which is held twice a term.
We are proactively involved in sporting activities at
Mapleton. Our students love to participate in a variety of sporting events that
are held throughout the year with other small hinterland schools and include
athletics, soccer, austag, volleyball and ballgames carnivals.
