Our school is found in a semi-rural setting in the heart of Mapleton, a small community of about 1000 people located on the crest of the Blackall Range. We are about 120 kilometres north of Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, Australia. Mapleton is 13 kilometres west of Nambour and about 380 metres higher.
From our school, the whole of the Sunshine Coast is spread out at our feet, from the Cooloola Coloured Sands and Noosa in the north, to Caloundra and Moreton Island in the south. Looking east, we can see over the green and fertile lands of Dulong and Kureelpa, and down the Petrie Creek valley to the Pacific Ocean. We are privileged to enjoy such a scenic position.
Students attending our school come from Mapleton itself and local districts. Two bus services bring children from the nearby rural residential areas of Kondalilla, Flaxton, Dulong and Kureelpa to the school.
Our campus is experiencing slow but steady growth, resulting in a continuing improvement in facilities each year. We are fortunate in this, as rapid growth causes on-going pressure and strain on many aspects of school organisation. The friendly small-school atmosphere we enjoy at present is something we wish to foster and nurture, as long as circumstances permit.
