Mapleton School camps
At Mapleton, we endeavour to run school camps so that all our students have the opportunity to experience new activities outside the school environment. Our camp program is as follows:
Prep-Yr. 3 - Depending upon the programs being run by the classes, different activities may occur each year. Incursions or 'camp outs' can take the form of a camp set up at Baxter Creek or the hall. Students may set up tents, undertake bush activities and experience bushtucker among other activities.
Year 4 – 6: We have a three year rotation between different camps including Currimundi, Maranatha and QCCC at Mapleton. We are also keen at finding new camping opportunities as new sites become established.
Each camp is based around our School Behaviour Program with the students needing to meet behaviour expectations in order to attend the camps.
It is important that payments for camps are made as early as possible as it takes a great deal of time and effort to process the money. Only due to medical reasons (often requiring a medical certificate ) can money be refunded if a student can’t attend camp. If a student decides not to attend at the last minute, the money cannot be refunded as the camp we are attending has already budgeted for food, instructors and the hiring of equipment. Please make yourself fully aware of this so there is no confusion if such an incident does occur.
