Chambers Island excursion

Storytime from our Preps:  Recently we went to Chambers Island.  We went on the bus and then we had to walk across a bridge to the island.  It was windy so we took our hats off so they wouldn’t blow away. Tina told us the rules for the day.  Then Tina showed us how to make islands in a hula hoop using twigs, shells and leaves.  If we got a sand-fly bite, Tina told us to put the pigface leaf on it.  Dan had a big net to catch some fish.  After he caught the fish, he put them in an old pool so we could get a closer look at them. There was a big pelican in the water. We think he wanted the fish for his dinner.  We also put yellow leaves in holes to feed the crabs. Johnno showed us how to look through magnifying glasses and binoculars.  Then we sat on the bridge to look at the stingrays using the binoculars.  We went back to school on the double-decker bus.  We had an awesome day!
